An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
